Occasional Paper: STEM skills in the workforce: what do employers want?

The Occasional Paper 'STEM skills in the workforce: what do employers want?’ was released by the Office of the Chief Scientist today.

The paper draws on the results of a commissioned report and among a number of key findings, the survey found that their STEM employees were some of the most innovative workers, and highly valued their skills in active learning and critical thinking. However, employers highlighted difficulty recruiting STEM qualified people.
