The Age on entrepreneurship in Australia

The Age has published an article about entrepreneurship in Australia, based on a new report commissioned by the Office of the Chief Scientist.

The report, to be released today by Chief Scientist Ian Chubb, says universities have a central role to play in developing the entrepreneurial skills Australia needs to insulate itself from downturns in commodity industries. But such training needs to move beyond business schools into mainstream courses.

“(Entrepreneurship) is inseparable from education — not independent of it,” Professor Chubb says in the report’s foreword. “We need to shift our mindsets from a willingness to muddle along to a determination to make our luck.”
