As part of his #StorytimePledge campaign, Australia’s Chief Scientist Dr Alan Finkel has challenged everyone to share a great book with a special child over the summer holidays.

Storytime Pledge day 6 – Prof. Emma Johnston

Book recommendation: The Snail and the Whale, by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler
Reason: This books takes you on a lyrical journey through many seas – and shows how even a tiny snail can save a whale.
I pledge to read to: My nephew who is 4 years old (but I bet the older kids will huddle round to hear this old favourite)

Book recommendation: Escape from Mr Lemoncello’s Library, by Chris Grabenstein
Reason: This book has been highly recommended by my daughter who is 12 years old and quite a book critic!
