The 14th meeting of the National Science and Technology Council was held in Canberra on 24 November 2022. The Prime Minister opened the meeting and noted apologies from Professor Fiona Wood and Dr Larry Marshall. 

Dr Foley delivered the 2022 Patricia Kailis Women of Achievement address titled "Looking beneath the surface – finding leadership within" on Tuesday 15 November 2022 to the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce in Perth.

Dr Foley delivered the Butters Oration to the Engineers Australia ACT branch titled "Realising success in the emerging industries: The role of leadership" on Tuesday 8 November 2022 in Canberra at the National Press Club.

Dr Foley delivered a keynote address to the Australian Rare Earth Conference titled "Getting down to Earth" on Tuesday 1 November 2022. The speech noted the challenges of unlocking the full potential of the rare earths industry in Australia.

Australia's Chief Scientist, Dr Cathy Foley, delivered a keynote presentation on the science that's shaping our future to the Institute of Public Administration Australia in Canberra on Wednesday 12 September.

The 13th meeting of the National Science and Technology Council was convened in Canberra on 14 September 2022. The meeting was chaired by the Hon Ed Husic MP, Minister for Industry and Science and Deputy Chair of the Council.

On Tuesday 4 October 2022, Dr Foley was honoured to receive an honourary Doctor of Laws at the Monash University Faculty of Science graduation ceremony.

Australia's Chief Scientist, Dr Cathy Foley, was part of a global discussion on Science and Technology as a driver for development during the Science and Technology in Society Forum 2022 in Kyoto, Japan on Sunday 2 October.

Dr Foley delivered the 2022 Stanhope Oration titled "Teaching for the Future" as an online address to the CONASTA conference on Tuesday 27 September 2022.
