On 13 September 2022, Dr Cathy Foley delivered a keynote speech at the Regional Australia's Institute's 2022 national summit. Dr Foley highlights the opportunities that Australia's ambition in emerging technologies and high-tech manufacturing offer to regional areas, including new skilled job opportunities.

Dr Foley gave a keynote address titled "Finding Australia's Edge" to the International Minerals Processing Council Asia Pacific Symposium in Melbourne on 24 August 2022.

On 15 June 2022, Dr Cathy Foley delivered The Melbourne Rotary Club's Thomas Baker Oration. In her speech, Dr Foley reflects on the challenges of a rapidly changing landscape and the need to be ambitious and harness the opportunities before us.

On 17 March 2022, Dr Cathy Foley delivered The Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering NSW Division's Chaikin Oration. In her speech, Dr Foley reflects on her work in the role so far, and the opportunities ahead.

On 23 February 2022, Dr Cathy Foley delivered the keynote presentation as part Sydney Quantum's Quantum Australia Conference. In her presentation, Dr Foley discusses the next phase of building a quantum strategy for Australia, and the importance of having all of Australia’s quantum voices represented.

Dr Foley delivered the Ninian Stephen Law Program Oration at the University of Melbourne Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Ethics on 21 October 2021.

Australia's Chief Scientist, Dr Cathy Foley, delivered the 2021 Helen Williams Oration at an IPAA ACT virtual event on Wednesday 29 September 2021.

On 17 March 2021 Dr Cathy Foley delivered her inaugural National Press Club address as part of Science meets Parliament. In her speech Achieving Impact from Australian science, Dr Foley discusses her priorities for her tenure as Australia’s Chief Scientist, and the critical role for science in achieving these priorities.

"Like tendrils, metrics wind their way right through the research ecosystem – from hiring and promotion, to funding and to publication. They get a strong grip. I think of it like a climbing wisteria that I once did battle with. Once those tendrils take hold of the pergola, they can squeeze the life out of it."

Dr Finkel delivered the Opening Remarks for Clarivate's inaugural research integrity event on Wednesday 25 November 2020, which considered some of the challenges and opportunities faced by the respective sectors in building integrity within in the research system.
