Dr Cathy Foley presented the government scientists group to parliamentarians on Wednesday, 28 February.

The Office of the Chief Scientist has released a booklet to showcase the breadth and depth of scientific endeavour taking place across the Australian Government through the Government Scientists Group, an initiative of Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Cathy Foley.

The 17th meeting of the National Science and Technology Council was held in Canberra on the 29 November 2023. The Minister for Industry and Science and Deputy Chair of the Council, the Hon Ed Husic MP, opened the meeting and acknowledged the First Nations custodians of the land.

On Monday 4 December, Dr Foley delivered a speech titled "Opportunities in quantum technologies: now, near term and in the future" at the International Conference on Quantum Energy in Melbourne.
